I thought yesterday's breakfast was good. Look at we just got from Balthazar. We should have kids or something, to eat this kind of thing on our own is ridiculous. Brioches, scones (oh my God), cannelés (double that joy), Danishes (the Apricot Over-Easy is gorgeous) and cinnamon rolls. Needless to say, I have eaten way more than my fair share. These beauties are so perfectly formed, I think I may hang up my baker's hat and use my wallet instead to conjure such goodies.

That looks lovely! I just wanted to say you have a GREAT blog, I am enjoying reading it and looking at those stunning photos. I think I will stop by at Balthazar next time...

Thanks so much! I like yours too, especially that meringue cake. I wish I had made these pastries myself, and am definitely going to try out some cannelés soon. Keep checking back, we have a lot of cooking to do this week!

Yum! These treats look fabulous, and I too would be tempted to throw off the bakers' hat and leave it to these experts. Hope they taste as good as they look.

I had a Balthazar scone from Dean & Deluca and it was so wonderful. I thought I wouldn't like an American scone but I was wrong. I must remember to visit the bakery next time I'm back. You and Michael had an indulgent morning...
