I just wanted to say Guinness ganache really. Try saying that quickly after a few too many glasses of Guinness and these little bites of heaven. I made these and a big ol' birthday cake for Ben after the success of the cake at Lizz's birthday last year. This is by far the most infallible recipe I have ever made. Not using the frosting in the recipe here, I made a quick white chocolate ganache and added a little Guinness foam to make it a bit more savory. I don't drink beer, but Michael attests that these are perfect with a glass of Guinness!

Using Guinness in a chocolate cake sounds really interesting. I will have to try it. Nice photo.

Where did you get those fluted mini cake pans. They're awesome...and seems like they come out clean.

The pan is a vintage one that I got from the Brimfield Antiques fair in Massachusetts a couple of years ago and I would love to find more – I can only make 6 cakes at a time with it at the moment! The cakes come out clean-ish, as I buttered the pan but think next time will butter and flour it.

Eyeglass lenses are commonly made from plastic, including CR-39 and polycarbonate. These materials reduce the danger of breakage and weigh less than glass lenses. Some plastics also have more advantageous optical properties than glass, such as better transmission of visible light and greater absorption of ultraviolet light.[1] Some plastics have a greater index of refraction than most types of glass; this is useful in the making of corrective lenses shaped to correct various vision abnormalities such as myopia, allowing thinner lenses for a given prescription.
